    Cool how to make favicon appear in address bar?

    Hi There

    I was just wondering whether it is possible to make a favicon appear in both the address bar & 'My Favourites' list? I can get the favicon to appear in my favourites list (only once added), but I would like it to appear in the address bar aswell. Any ideas?

    Many Thanks in advance

    <link rel="icon" href="images/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

    I think this should do both.

    favicon still won't add to address bar?

    Many Thanks for your reply!

    I tried the code and although it seems to add the icon to the favourites list it still won't add it to the address bar. Is there something I need to do with IE? or is there anything else I could try?

    thanks

    There's nothing much you can do really, IE can be finicky about showing up favicons. Usually, if you bookmark the link, it *may* show up .

    Does it work for you in say Firefox? If it does, then you know that IE is playing it's usual games

    Normally, there would be no need for the link. If the server has been configured properly (and most are by default) you can just put the favicon.ico file in the root directory for the particular domain.

    At the risk of getting laughed at (yet again!) if you pull at the little e icon in the address bar a few times with your mouse in IE then the favicon usually appears.

    Now, THAT is funny. Tailslide, how is IE7's support for favicons?

    No idea. Probably no change - there's too much stuff on the snagging list to worry about favicons though!
