    IE vs Netscape

    Hi all,

    I have this script (super simple I know)

    Code:
    function sprongetje(form)
                    {
                            var sprongvar=sprong.datum.selectedIndex;
                            parent.MAIN.location.href=(sprong.datum.options[sprongvar].value);
                            sprongvar = 0;
                    }
                    // End -->
    The Only thnig I use it for it going to a new site with the variables from the value of a selectbox and without having to push go..

    This isn't working in Netscape do you by any chance know How to solve it?

    Code:

                    {
                            var sprongvar=sprong.datum.selectedIndex;
                            parent.MAIN.location.href=(sprong.datum.options[sprongvar].value);
                            sprongvar = 0;
                    }
                    // End -->
    Try being more specific with Netscape.

    Document.formname.formelement.selectedIndex

    so in the case above make everything

    Code:
    function sprongetje(form)
                    {
                            var sprongvar=document.sprong.datum.selectedIndex;
                            parent.MAIN.location.href=(document.sprong.datum.options[sprongvar].value);
                            sprongvar = 0;
                    }
    that should work.

    Thanks!!!

    Do You by any chance know if you can have a fixed background in Netscape??

    I know it's just
    bgproperties="fixed"

    in IE but doesn't seem to work with netscape..

    I am not sure. I haven't tried to use fixed background with any site. According to the text it should be allowed.

    Have you tried setting it up in the CSS.

    Code:
    body {
       background-image: url("../graphics/box.png");
       background-attachment: fixed;
       position:absolute;
       left: 100px;
       background-repeat: no-repeat;
      }
    Is that what you are looking for. Having those in the body tag is now depreciated in favour of css and that may be your problem. That works in Netscape 6.0

    Oh 4.7..I am not sure then. It doesn't support a lot of css and I know when I did try using a fixed background it messed up pretty badly in 4.7.
