    File extensions

When I first installed XP I had some problems so I went back to Me, but this made a load of my files uppercase. I manually renamed them but the extensions are uppercase, is there a program or batch file or anything that can be used to change the extensions to lowercase?

Thats sounds familiar but this was a few years ago. Reading this it seems like it will suit your needs.

The program above does not work on XP. Can anyone suggest something else?

Jeeze, is a search on Download.com *that* hard!!!

Anyways, I came up with these .. both are XP compatible.

    PowerRen 2000 1.3

    File and MP3 Renamer 2001 4.13

And I was able to get them using even a badly structured search query like renamer.

I wanted to see if anyone could recommend something they have used, not just tell me to look at download.com When people ask a PHP question I don't just give them a link to php.net

    Sean,

You could write a simple batch file to do this, with line such as:

    ren *.TXT *.txt
    ren *.JPG *.jpg
    ren *.DOC *.doc

etc. Would take a few minutes, as you'd have to copy the bat file into each folder and run it from within there. It depends how many folders you have!! Let me know if you need a hand if you decide to do this.
