Cannot find driver: SiS 330 Mirage IGP

My friend has an MDG laptop and I reformatted and cannot find the video driver anymore. Everest says it is the "SiS 330 Mirage IGP', but I cannot find a download for it ANYWHERE.

Can anyone help me find this driver, or an alternative driver that may work?

Wow, I did a bit of Googling and thought you were SOL on this one. I went to the manufacturer's website (as I'm sure you did as well) and couldn't find the driver for that particular video card but then I came across this French thread where someone provided a link for that particularly driver that you need (at least that's my understanding from the Babelfish translation :P). Hopefully it will work for you. The link to the zip file still worked when I clicked on it.

PCI modem? Isn't that just a generic name? What OS did you install on this laptop? Window XP usually just uses a generic driver if you don't install the correct driver.

The french link above doesn't appear to be working so I have done an internet search and discovered that the reason for the Mirage 330 driver not being listed is the fact that SiS actually use another driver for it which I discovered on a chinese website.

The link you need to SiS website is :

http://www.sis.com/

and go to support, then driver download and then enter OS, IGP cards and select the SIS66x and SIS76x driver which is tried and tested. (The 330 is not listed.)

Took me an hour to discover that so hope this saves you all some time !!

Saying that, it has sorted out the unknown driver in device manager but now keeps rebooting, so please use my attempt ant solving the problem with caution.
