    Minimum Size Site

    Hi All

I couldn't figure out what to search on so I thought I would ask a new question instead.

Does anyone know how to enforce a *minimum* size on your site? I have seen this at Microsoft's sites where when open full screen, it fills it, but as you decrease the size, the site will get to a point and stop resizing.

What "tricks" are they employing over there?

It's probably an image they have. If oyu're using a variable width table layout then the page will resize until the outer bounds of the TABLE meet something which cannot resize such as an image (or multiple images) or a loooooooooooooong piece of text. At that point the layout will cease to compress.

You could always use a table that has two or more columns in it. Make one column a fixed width which you could insert text, make the other column a percentage to fill the remaining browser space.

I usually do that for headers, the left column may be set at 400 or so and the right will be 100%. I'll make a background image from the logo or graphic used on the left and use that in the right column.
