[dreamweaver] divs & layers

ello all, jus hand coded a website which is made out of div tags & css using dreamweaver. Ive jus noticed now tho in the design view that some of the div tags (my sidebar for example, have become layers, but still keep exactly the same <div> tag, how does dreamweaver distinguish? and how can i change a layer back into a normal div tag??
im finding it most confusing!

What Dreamweaver calls 'layers' are merely DIV elements which are absolutely positioned. If you don't want them positioned, remove the position:absolute from the corresponding CSS rule.

DW layers will show up in the layers pallet, css styled divs will not.
I really don't see how DW would have changed your divs to layers on its own though ......

you might want to look thro the posts on the CSS section. DW uses position absolute to make so called layers.
