include files and search engine spiders

I am using an include function to insert a file which contains the html header tags and meta tags at the top of every page. My question is, if a search engine spider comes to index the page will it look for the file to insert before it indexes it, or does it index the page without the included file? Thanks.

It's your server that does the inserting, not the thing viewing the page - as far as the spider can tell it's just a normal page.

Search engine spiders "see" web pages in much the same way as browsers ie. they only see the resultant HTML and not the php files that generated it.

Provided that your file is being correctly included you don't need to do anything.
