    Radical new limeVista

Yes, yet another re-design - but this goes in a bit of a new direction for lV.

Let me know what you think: http://www.limevista.com

    Needs some Content

Site needs some content. Two or three pages without much information will lose soneone from the site fast.
The Dont Slip Up image does not show for me. (IE6)
Contact Us page has a Javascript error on it. also, it was very difficult to even find the link to the page. My mouse pointer did not change on the link.

Your main logo design is nice. Again I would suggest more content.
    Search it. Find it. Win.

    Ok, good review.

Content, JavaScript fix, Links are now top of my list. I was going to be going cheatsheets anbd templates very soon. So that could take care of the content side.

Very nice and fresh. The only remark I would have is the fact that the content is a bit too far down. In 1024x768 it starts in the bottom third of the screen. You might reduce the hight of the header and / or the fruit / slogan section.

very nice site I like it because it is so simple - very clean and fresh - well, I know I told you that already

    Just a few thoughts:

have to agree with the header section taking up a little much of the space on the page.... but I like both the header and your fruit bit - so I would have no suggestions, sorry.....

    background
i really like the page on first load - the gradient works well (I'd make the black less 'black' - but that's just me). But once you scroll the page - I find the full black a bit strong.... might be an idea to fix the background and just scroll the site? - just an idea....

    good luck

I have to agree with the users above, it is a very fresh looking website. I am using a 1200x800 configuration for my resolution and the site looks beautiful.

When I use my sister's desktop with a 1024 config it looks wierd because the content doesn't start for awhile (just as people said above).

Everything aside I think it is a very good website for a design firm Great job.

The mirrored text you're using for headers looks a little too solid to me. Makes them a bit distracting. The lower-case y in the last one also makes it much different looking than the others. They're also background images so if there's no alt text for those who need it. The black rounded corners seem rather jaggy to me.

Can't think of anything else. Nice site.

Honestly I think you've got a good solid design to work with, however I would be leery about using so many headers with the reflection. In my opinion, that looks great once on a page to really highlight the topic. There are various other ways to point out headlines and breaks that will help the content flow smoother while the user scans the website for the needed information.

I use CSS to replace my text, so a screen reader would read it fine and a user without CSS would too.

I think you have too much of the mirror effect going on. it looks good on the header and, the fruit looks like it is floating, and well, the rest of it is just tired.

    First thought:

    Looks like a blog.

It's a little too simple looking if it's for a webdesign company. You don't want to get too busy or cluttered but you need to show off some graphic and design talent to impress a potential client.

Good ideas, I agree but I do like the simple design. I'll look into adding more design flare on the homepage.

Someone mentioned this already, but when I visited your site I thought it was a blog site as well. But then I was able to find out quickly what LimeVista is, so that is good!

I really enjoy the flash animations with all the fruit, that is really cool. The background gradients look very nice then that the fruit adds the colour that the site needs.

The contact us page is very well layed out and easy to follow.

What I dislike: All the mirrored font. Makes it kind of an eye sore. I have no clue what "Free Colours" means.

I think you should centre the Lime Vista font at the top.

Nice looking site, good luck with the company!

I really like practically everything about this site, except for two small things.

    1. The background doesn't work right. Either it is too dark, or the gradient is too sharp where it changes color. I think if you make the black part lighter, that should work.

    2. The reflections of the sub-headings don't work. The only way to make them work is by making all letters caps, and then applying a less obvious reflection. Just something very light.

Overall...excellent site...and I'm sure you'll gain some big clients from that great design. It is a fresh concept with great potential.

    edit...
You should have your portfolio links open as target="_blank" to keep people on your site.
And so I got lost in code...completely asphyxiated by it...

I use XHTML so I can't add a target element to the links. I might add JavaScript to open a new window if they have it tho.

Cheers for the very professional reviews, it does mean a lot to me.

All reviews and suggestions will be thought through and most implemented. I have some very good advise so far, but please keep them coming.

Ok, not bad. Lovin the standards compliance and validation There are so many sites that come up with zillions of warnings and errors. On the bottom of the page, i was expecting to see some copyright or policy or contact links, but not links in general. when the page first loaded, i didn't know what the site was there for. apples, bananas strwawberries? a fruit site? i didn't notice till i scrolled down and saw the web dev banenr. change folio to portfolio. folio sounds too much like polio disease. what is "list your company by colors"?
