First, if this is not the right spot to ask this, please move to the appropriate forum, I just couldn't figure out which would be more appropriate than this.
Also, if anyone knows a forum resource that is strictly wiki, or better yet mediawiki, please let me know (the mediawikifoundation page doesn't seem to have a forum attached to it), as I do want to customize the mediawiki some.
Anyway, on to my actual question:
Using mediawiki, how would I go about populating the wiki from a database?
What I have is a DB with about 10k records of physical locations. What I need to do is to create two Wiki pages for each of the locations. The first page would be generic info about that location, and the second one would be specific info about a feature of that location.
The DB doesn't hold any content, it only holds the location ID, the location name, and the location coordinates, as well as a link to another resource on the net.
What I would like to end up with are two pages for each location that are linked to each other, as well as include the link that is stored in the DB on my first generic info page for that location.
I hope this is clear enough as to what I am trying to do. What I would like to avoid is to enter all 10,000 locations manually.
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.
