BBcode Nonstandard code?
I was looking into BBcode and I've noticed how most take the and turn it into , and the same occurs for many of the tags. If I remember I thought we didn't do that anymore and a more correct way would be to use css and use the text-weight function.
So I'm wondering whether BBcode is even a correct way of making html code..

The [b][/b] tags in BBcode signify boldfacing, which is exactly what in HTML do. Using something like would be plain silly.
The B element in HTML is not deprecated. The problem is that it used to be used for emphasis (instead of EM or STRONG). BBcode doesn't have tags for emphasis, only for presentational effects (italic, boldfacing). Those should be translated into the corresponding HTML tags ( and ).Birnam wood is come to Dunsinane
