    ems scaling at different rates

    the left column of text on this page

    http://www.hdbatik.co.uk/ogtemp20060...ationhelp.html

    starts off ok, but when i scale it in safari, up in size say, it *overscales*. that is the size of the left column scales faster than the size of the right column and quickly the left column is jutting into and pushing over the right column. i can not work out what is making the two columns scale differently and what to do to me them scale at the same rate -- any sollutions would be great.

    thanks.

    HI,

    I don't have safari to check but in ie and firefox you would need to set the font-size of the h4 and the ul to be the same size so that 7em width will then mean the same in both and should scale together.

    You also need to set the padding-left to 7em on the ul also.

    Code:
    h4 { font-size: 1.3em; }

    ul, ol {
     padding-top: 0.5em;
     font-size: 1.3em;
    }

    ul { padding:0 0 1em 7em; list-style:none; }
