    Clipboard problems

I'd like to know about the structure of clipboard data so that i could begin to manipulate it. What i need to do is to copy the data from an excel sheet and paste this data into a table so that each cell from excel corresponds to a cell in my HTML table.
So what happens when you copy data from an excel sheet. What is the format that it is stored in the clipboard.
I've seen the DOM clipboardData object and i'm nearly there with the solution. Just a few more nudges would be appreciated.
    Peace out,

Web pages don't have a clipboard so there is no DOM clipboard object.
JScript in Internet Explorer provides access to the clipboard but other browsers do not even allow the web page to know if they are running on a platform that has a clipboard or not let alone provide access to the clipboard if there is one.

If you are working on an intranet application then you can use JScript to access the clipboard but if you are working on a web page then you will not know if a clipboard even exists.
