    Re: International Driver's License?

Let's kill their claims shall we?

An international driver's license is an Add-On to your current license and has no merits on it's own. They are issued by the AAA and other travel type companies and have no legal or jurisdictional values. They are merely a card that has your information from your regular license in several languages, and your real license needs to be carried with it. This is so you can show a police officer from another country your license and he can understand it. Heck they have pinted on them in large letters "not a legal document" "Not a valid license" etc.

Cost about $10-12 from any AAA agent.
    Worth less than that.

If you get stopped in the US and show the International Driver's License and don't have a regular state's license to show them, you will get ticketed for being unlicensed and may get arrested for attempted fraud.

Oh by the way, they expire either in 4 years or when the license you used to get it expires, whichever comes first.
