    European Language Characters

I'm going to completely hash my way through this question and hope you understand.

I'm doing some work in Greek, and therefore needing to display Greek characters. I can write in Greek, I can choose what I think to be the correct character set declaration UTF-8 to display the characters.

I can preview in DW and it displays the characters correctly, but uploaded to my server it displays random characters.

I can change the character declaration to ISO-8859-1 which displays some of my characters in Greek, but I have to cut and re-paste to make the others display in Greek.

So yes by hashing through it I can get the Greek characters displayed, but they are written into my code as symbol declarations, which doesn't seem correct.

I have no knowledge of the relationship between doc type declaration and charactersets and want to know what I am doing wrong.

I hope someone can help me!

    Okay sorry...

The issue is my new server isn't correctly configured - I have answered my own problem.

    Apologies...

That's a common problem. The HTTP header sent by the server will take precedence over any <meta> elements in your markup.
