    Than you want to have a state like this
    Code:
    #navbar a {
    height: 20px;
    padding-top: 3px;
    }

    #navbar a:hover {
    height: 30px;
    padding-top: 13px;
    }
    Use the tutorials from here http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/ to make a floated list and then use the mark-up above to make them bigger as you want.

    Hope it helps you on the path.

    Glad that it helped. If your doing it like on that yuriydyrenko site (i.e. with background images) you might want to search for the .htaccess directives that stop the image flickering thats going on there.

    Its on a blog somewhere with lots of methods on how to fix it but the .htaccess method works out best. Google 'css background flicker' or something similar and you should get it.
