How do you change the appearance of an alert or confirm box.

I need to change the appearance of the standard alert and confirm boxes in javascript. What options do I have to accomplish this? Is it even possible?

    What are some alternatives?

I think a possible alternative is instead of an alert box, to instead do a hidden div that when it's displayed, looks like a popup window (chromless, and with a custom style/look & feel). I would know how to accomplish that, so if anyone can point me to the right direction for that, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ali

    Stephen,

Thanks for the link! I think that's what I'll use for now.

However, I remember running across something in Google quite a while back (when I didn't need it, and now that I do I can't find it).

It's basically, floating divs that sort of overlay the page you are currently viewing, and look more like popups.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help,
    Ali

Could you be talking about Lightbox developed by this guy..
    http://www.huddletogether.com/

Lightbox makes divs 'overlay' the page, it darkens the background and opens the content over the top in a nice box. Heres the link.

    pooney,

That's not the site. However, the one you just posted is really cool. But a bit over the top for my needs.

The site I saw, was a bit more lo-tech.

    Thanks anyway,
