    Recording long distance interview?

I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this question, but it's the closest thing I could find.

I would like to record an interview for my web site, but the subject of the interview is located too far away to make getting together to record it convenient.

Does anyone know how I could record a real-time, long-distance conversation to an audio file? Some of the things I'v thought of is recording a phone conversation - but this requires purchasing some hardware; recording a 'net phone' conversation - but this would be very low quality and subject to dropouts and delays.

Can anyone think of some better alternatives, or easier ways of doing the above?

    Thanks

Radioshack sells things you can attach to your phone and connect o your Audio In jack on your sound card. It works just like a microphone.

I saw someting on the net called PC2Phone that did something similar, but it was priced at $300!! If I have to pay for some kind of hardware, I wouldn't want to spend more than $10. Is the device your talking about in that kind of price range?

I think I got mine for about $10, or less. It definitely wasn't $300.

Well I found something that should suit my purpose, maybe it's what you're talking about qslack:

Only problem is, I can only find web sites selling it in the states. I'll have to get out the yellow pages on the weekend, and see if I can find somewhere in Melboune, Australia that sells it!

Unfortunately, gave them a try but they only have the induction mike pickups which deliver terrible audio quality. The guy at Dick Smith suggested I look for a surveilance company. Ugh, they're gonna be expensive!! Might end up having to import the damn thing from the sates. But the shipping will be three times the price of the device itself!

Anyone know of any stores in Australia that might stock something like this?
