    Floating Div with Flash Element loses links!

    I have put together a site that uses flash for the navigation menu. The flash element is inside a div. Weirdly, if I float the div, then the links in the swf stop working. If I remove the float element, it works.

    I'm lost.

    Here is my div tag:
    Code:
    <div style="margin: 50px 0 0 559px; width: 700px; float: left;">
    Which is followed by the code to insert the flash (sorry, I haven't cleaned it up):
    Code:
    <OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
     codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"
     WIDTH="145" HEIGHT="174" id="Outrageous Contageous - men" ALIGN="">
     <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="Outrageous Contageous - men.swf"> <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high> <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FBB4EC> <EMBED src="Outrageous Contageous - men.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#FBB4EC  WIDTH="145" HEIGHT="174" NAME="Outrageous Contageous - men" ALIGN=""
     TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></EMBED>
    </OBJECT>
    The flash displays where I want it, but links inside the movie do not work. If I change the div tag to:
    Code:
    <div style="margin: 50px 0 0 559px; width: 700px;">
    Then the links work, but obviously the div is in the wrong place.

    Please help! :P

    You surely do have a weird problem, i try'd to replicate it a my computer and the links in the swf file are working just fine. Besides that, i doubt css can influence the links that are being imbedded in a flash file.

    I which browser did you test it, and can you maybe make a online demo?

    I tried it with Firefox and Safari (I'm on a Mac, but wouldn't bother with IE even if I wasn't).

    The flash file is a bit dirty, as I extracted the menu from a previous, all-flash site. I am going to try and clean up the library of unused elements, republish and see if that helps.

    If not, I'll try and set up a demo somewhere for you to take a look at.

    Thanks

    If you're giving that div such a large left margin, shouldn't you be floating it right instead of left?
