Software for HP printer

Hi -

My son just gave me an HP Office Jet Model # C2890A that I want to use as a printer on my Mac.

Where the heck can I find the software to run this?

I did a quick search for a suitable driver on the Hewlett Packard Homepage, but I can't seem to find one for a Mac system.

One question? If the printer is connected to your Mac, doesn't the Operating System automatically detect the new hardware? Windows does and has a range of drivers on the install cd-rom, which let it support a wide range of new hardware.

If not, then I suggest you contact the producer of the printer via their website: http://www.hp.com.
