    Tax?

This might sound stupid to most but I really do not know the answer:

Should I charge tax for my services (I am currently not required to file taxes)? If so what are the conditions?

Everyone is required to file taxes on the money they receive. If you receive money, you have to file the appropriate federal, state and local taxes.

I would suggest making an appointment with a tax accountant ASAP to answer all your questions regarding taxes.

The question isn't clear, I am guessing you are referring to sales tax when you are asking whether you should charge tax, and to income tax when say you are not required to file? If so, my understanding is you still have to charge sales tax for any taxable goods/services unless the buyer is exempt. It doesn't matter if you are required to file income tax - it has nothing to do with sales tax and besides he is the one who is being taxed, not you.

Disclaimer: this is not a legal advice

Sales tax is what I am talking about... but how do I know which of my services should have sales tax? I am not selling any goods.

You can try calling the local tax officials for your city/county/state -- generally they can tell you what is and what is not taxable.

If they can't help, speak to your CPA or attorney if you're uncertain.
