    password hints

    Hello,

do you hate password hints (secret questions) as I do? I mean they never really work for me. Why not just send it to a given email address, are there any serious reason why not work with that? And some people try to hack into accounts by trying to guess the password hints.. so what do u think?

    I too hate them.
I have many accounts at diff places asking for a hint password.
But I am never able to remember them.
I don't know what 'll do if I ever forget them
I like the best system of emailing the password. That's quick and easy too.

The reason I think people use password hints is if you need access to an account of yours but don't have access to your email account.

Furthermore if you use perhaps a shared computer which isn't password protected then it might be possible to get hold of account details simply by entering the email address.

But nevertheless there should probably be an option for either, i.e. retrieve via password hint or send to your email account.

That, I don't buy .. with sites like www.mail2web.com it is possible to check your e-mail anywhere in the world, I have used it for all 15 of my email addresses and they all work fine .. and apparently they wok on 99.9% of the e-mail addresses / servers out there!
