    ASP and SSI

    I am trying to create a site using ssi on the IIS server. It is a catalog for school, which has 40+ text files. I would like to go to apache, but that is beyond my control. I would like to send a query string, and then it would write <!--#include file ="Request.QueryString" --> It does not seem to work, and I am not sure why. Any suggestions? Thanks for you help.

    Sorry Rich, no go, you can't use <!--#inlcude file="request.querstring"--> because ASP includes the paegs BEFORE executing the actual ASP code.

    What you could do is a series if..elseif statments or a Case Select.

    Thats just my 2 cents, but you don't have to listen to me... tho it would be the smart thing to do

    If you want, I can supply a little example.

    Here are two examples I tried using.

    <%@ LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" %>
    <% Response.Buffer = False%>
    <%
    DIM ID
    ID = Request.QueryString("ID") & ".txt"%>
    <html>
    <head>
    <Title>This is another test</title>
    </head>
    <body>

    <p>
    <%
    Response.Write ""<!--#include file="" & ID & """-->"

    %>
    This is a test
    </p>

    </body>
    </html>
    <%@ LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" %>
    <% Response.Buffer = true%>
    <html>
    <body>

    <%
    <!--#include file=" Request.QueryString" -->%>
    </body>
    </html>
    <%
    Response.End
    %>

    Thanks for your help.
