A poll for cable modem users

I finally ditched dial-up (for good, I hope) last Friday as I got a new one-way (only thing that's available) cable modem courtesy of Comcast@home. My question to all you other cable users is what kind of speeds do you get?

You can test it here: http://webservices.cnet.com/Bandwidth . I have been getting speeds of up to 800kbps regularly... which seems pretty good to me. I know people have faster, though, because a friend says he gets 1500kbps.

When I used to have cable I consistantly got 500 -800 on similar tests. Now that I have adsl I always get 1200 or more.

A neat trick is to hit back it will automatically reload with your cache speed. I got 40800 kbps haha

Yeah, I noticed that. I did that before posting this and it said "infinity kbps".

Hmm, I got 1000-1200 before, but tonight isn't a good one. 167.6 kbps. Not sure what happened...

I regulary get between 2500-3000 Kbps on my cable-modem connection.

Go there: www.dslreports.com to get speed test and tweak hints to improve your connection.
