    Gamecube

We went and got it at midnight when it became available along with Madden 2002. I like it a lot.

    Did anyone else get it?

I haven't got it yet, I don't know if I am going to bother getting one to be honest. I am still waiting for my Gameboy Advance ..

Although, if I were to go out and buy another console tomorrow it would probably be an X-Box .. I have lost my faith in Nintendos consoles after I realised I speant over 1000 on N64 games, most of which I only played once or twice. Nintendos handhelds rock my world though.

Well I'm still content with my PlayStation2. So I'm not going to be buying any of those for a while -- there's still a long tenure before PS2 is obsolete.

    JMulder - I like it.

Does it still have that japaname/cartoon look??. I had the 64 and enjoyed it but got sick of the japaname look. I also found the dreamcast was horrible for that. Everything looked like interactive sailor moon. I hated that aspect

That was one area I prefered the sony. They went for realism and from what I have seen Xbox is going in that direction.

Well, when you look at the TV do you also see Japanese Animation?

Really, I had an N64 and none of the games looked like Japanese animation to me and the Gamecube basically is the same feeling from me anyway.

Depends on the channel. But most cartoon definately have a japaname feel to them today as well as most games. I prefer realism.

Oh man, I'm gonna get me one of these. I love Nintendo...I remember the first day we played the NES as a family...that was fun. I liked the SNES (a truly amazing system, way ahead of it's time. Best games of any Nintendo system, given the time period) way more than the Sega Genesis...and I thought N64 beat the crap out of Playstation.

X-Box looks good, but GameCube looks better. I have almost no interest in buying a PS2. GameCube, GameGube, GameCube.

Patrick: gonna buy me one online from Amazon. Madden looks like a game worth getting: it's not too hard, I hope? I'll probably get Pikmin, the new Zero-G, and another game or two.

I've got a PS2 and I definitely also want a Game Cube, but it is not vital until Metroid is released. Now that game on the SNES had the best learning curve of any game ever - hopefully it will retain some Shig Miyamoto magic.

Gamecube is on my Christmas list.

I will be avoiding the X Box like the plague. I tried playing a couple of the games for it at two interactive stations in the mall, and both times it locked up on me or just took too long to start. At one point it took 15 minutes just to load a demo.

Yeah, I am a Nintendo fan as well, but I am really disappointed with the N64 releases, most of them are Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon and Pikachu

I want some cool games and it all stinks at the moment, NES games rocked

    Chris,

I agree on SNES and N64. In fact I agree with your whole message.

No, Madden isn't too hard. Takes a few games to pick up the controls, but after that its smooth. I am not sure which games I am going to get. I don't know if I like the idea of Pikmin. I'll be waiting for the next baseball game (2003 edition). Might get Liugi and of course I'll be getting Zelda. Looking at that Simpsons Road Rage game as well, but I don't think I'll be getting that. Oh and SSB Melee (thanks Itay ).

Sparkie - Cool. I played Halo (is that what its called?) at the mall for a half hour and I didn't have much problem besides not really understanding the object except to shoot.

    Itec - lol.

Itay - Yeah, I think its great! Madden 2002 which I have, doesn't even use the capability of it, which is something. Its just an improved port of the PS2 one! But I had to get one game!

JMulder - Well, Zelda, Mario, Madden, Resident Evil are some of the main licenses. And there are many more. Not sure what games you like. I don't play Resident Evil though.

I sincerely hope they don't pokemon us to death!

I think that NES games (the 8 bit ones) were really experimental. Anyone remember games like Maniac Mansion or a Boy and his Blob? I bet you'd never find that on any other system ever again. Makes you wonder what the game developers were smoking...

These days, they find a formula and stick to it. That's why there are so many resident evil and pokemon clones out there. Gah!

Hehe TWT. I liked the PlayStation better than N64 -- it just had so many good games that were better than the N64 counterparts.

Plus, sales wise, the PlayStation consistenly outsold the N64 right up until the Dreamcast, PlayStation2, etc. was released.

Well, I knew Playstation was more popular, but just my opinion was that the N64 was better.
