I would like to set up a large listing on a website. What script would enable my visitors to cross 3 or 4 categories and narrow down the list?
If anybody has an answer or any idea where I should look for that info, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
A little more on the specifics would be helpful in suggesting a solution.
Do you mean removing some parts of your site from a search or so they never see them again? Or just simply allowing them to quickly pass through those areas to what does interest them?

Here is an example : To narrow down a listing of lodging in the US, I would want to have 4 menus, one for "location" (with different cities as options", one for "stars" (options 1 to 4), one for "type of lodging" (B&B, hotels, etc), and one for "special features".
The visitor would have to highlight a few options and click on a "GO" button to get to a shorter listing. Do you have any idea where I could find a script for that kind of design?
Thank you.
Lauren.
Yeah.. HP uses something similar on their site for product support. They are populating their lists from a database using a technology like ASP. You could also do it with PHP. www.4guysfromrolla.com has a tutorial on building dropdown lists from a database.
