RSS compatible with PHP and MySQL

I am currently doing a database website, using PHP & MySQL. However, the data is required to be updated regularly, which are some current news or blog entries from various related websites. Therefore, I am planning to subscribe to the RSS Feeds of these websites. Of course, I need to get the RSS reader. So, what RSS reader is more compatible with PHP and MySQL ???
I would use PHP codes to store the required contents extracted from the RSS files, to the MySQL database.

    Thank you.

Retrieve the file and parse it yourself. It's just text.

If you're using PHP 5, it has a nice built-in XML parser.

You might want to use XML DOM parser that is buit in PHP 5. For simpler solution, try simple XML parser which too is built-in.
