I'm creating a site for a small community. I want an easy to maintain CMS that will definately have a module where people can post jobs and where people can advertize property and places to rent. I'd like it to look fairly seemless.
I have used mambo in the past, and think its great (a bit complicated), but wonder if there is anything a bit slicker out there as i'm targeting a business audience - am prepared to pay (up tp $300 for a CMS solution).
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have access to the following in my Control Panel:
Content Management
Drupal
Geeklog
Mambo Open Source
PHP-Nuke
phpWCMS
phpWebSite
Post-Nuke
Siteframe
TYPO3
Xoops
Many thanks
T
The one I prefer and suggest is Joomla! it is very powerful and extensible!!
Mambo is quite good for the moment but I am not too sure about his future!!
Drupal is good too but I think it is a little bit harder to use for beginners
WordPress.org should be OK for you too!
I would suggest that you choose Joomla then with the money hire someone to customize it and extend it for you
Anyway you can also take a look at this site: www.opensourcecms.com to have more info
Wordpress is good too..and so is Drupal
i used drupal before..the older version and totally gave up..it was hard to understand..however with the release of version 4.7..i'm loving it..currently playing with it at myipoh.com
If you want something quick and easy to use now go with Joomla. But if you prefer to get the most out of your CMS and expand it in many ways take the time to learn Drupal, it's more than just a CMS, it's a powerful platform.
