    Inspiration with part of my CSS design

    Hi All,

    Wondering if you can help. I'm re-designing my site:

    www.thisisslough.com/stfc/

    ...and am lacking inspiration on a set bit of the site in my reports page that displays the team.

    The bit in question is the team line-up. I've built it in CSS like so:

    HTML Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>test</TITLE>
    <STYLE TYPE="text/css">
    	.menustyling ul{
    	  list-style:none;
    	  padding:0px 0px;
    	  margin:0px 0px;
              background-color: #FFFFFF
    	}

           .menustyling li{
             display:block;
             border-bottom:1px
             #cccccc solid;
             background-color: #FFFFFF;
             padding-bottom: 6px
             }

           .menustyling{
             width:150px;
    	 margin:0px;
    	 padding:0px;
    	 background-color:#fff;
             font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, 'MS Sans Serif', sans-serif
             font-size: 8pt;
             font-weight: normal;
             vertical-align: middle;
             }

           .teams_box {
    	 border: #CCCCCC solid;
    	 padding:0px 0px;
    	 margin:0px 0px 2px;
    	 width:150px;
    	 float:left;
             font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, 'MS Sans Serif', sans-serif;
             font-size: 8pt;
             font-weight: bold;
             color: #FFFFFF;
             background-color: #0033CC;
             border-width: 0px 0px 1px;
             border-color: #000000
             }

             .lbox{
             width:150px;
             height:95px;
             margin-bottom:8px;
             border: #CCCCCC solid;
             margin-left: 4px;
             border-color: #333333 solid black;
             border-width: 1px 1px 0px
             }
    </STYLE>
    </HEAD>

    <BODY>
    <div CLASS="lbox">
    <div CLASS="teams_box">Football Team</div>
    <DIV CLASS="menustyling">
    <UL ID="nav">
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Goalkeeper</A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Right Back</A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Left Back </A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Centre Back</A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Centre Back </A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Midfielder </A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Midfielder</A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Midfielder</A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Attacker</A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Attacker</A></LI>
    <LI><A HREF="TEST">Attacker</A></LI>
    </UL>
    </DIV>
    </div>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    ...But i'm sure as you will agree(!) it's not very exciting - Any ideas to brighten this part of the page up would be most helpful

    Many Thanks

    Chris

    It is hard to give you any inspiration. Your CSS should reflect what you want to do with your site, and you should have a draft of how you want it to look (at least for me, it is always better to have something in front of me so I remember what I am trying to achive)

    This is not really a CSS question, I think, but a matter of not knowing which is the best look for you menu. So my suggestion is that you write down the sites that have a menu that you like while you surf, and then decide which one would look best in your site.
