    On my test site, http://www.geocities.com/hidekiikeda/test3.htm

I am trying to expand the blue bar on the left hand side to the bottom of the page. I've tried setting the height of the cell to 100%, but found that it does not work in NN. How can I get it to expand to the bottom without having to set a specific pixel height for that cell?

    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    -Hideki

P.S. I am trying to stay away from using a background gif.

Try adding the rowspan attribute to that column. You can count your number of rows and set the rowspan to that and it should automatically expand and shrink as needed.

Just as you did with your left and top margins in the body tag, set your bottom margin to zero.

Hey, thanks for the advice guys! The problem is, the navigation bar on the left is in a seperate table. I have two main tables in the page. One is the header, the other is the main section. The main section is devided into two columns. The left comlum is used for the navigation, and the right is used for contents. Within that left column, I nested another table for the actual navigation bars. So it is in two layers deep.

I've tried to the two suggestions but they don't seem to have any effect on NN.

    What else can I do??

    Thanks!

Take a look at your source. You've got some stuff outside of your </html> tag at the very bottom. I took that stuff out and it worked just fine.

The stuff after the /html is the junk geocities puts in for their pop up ad. I still can't get it to expand all the way down in NN.

    ????

I do beleive that we have found your problem. If you would like to test it to see if it's true go to this page on my server space. I took your page and copied the code exactly, only I took out the bottom stuff I told you about. I uploaded it to my server space for you. You can move your site to http://www.VirtualAvenue.net/ or http://www.FreeServers.com/ and still get free hosting, but much better capabilities over geocities, in particular, the stuff in the bottom is gone.

Your site is a well designed site, and shouldn't be messed up by geocities.

Hey Mike, I am seriously greatful for the amount of time you are putting in to help me out with the problem!

Try the site http://www.geocities.com/hidekiikeda/test3.htm again. I've uploaded the current version. It looks perfect in IE because I have the cell height as 100%. But in NN, it doesn't register the cell height as 100% and the blue color stop right below "Back to Top"

How in the world can I get it to expand the entire length in NN???

Well, it looks fine to me. I'll try to dig a little deeper and find out what's going on.
