I would like to know what text size setting is most common in IE. Do most people have their browser set at "medium" or "smaller".
Most sites, when viewed at "medium" setting look ugly as the text is very big when relative text sizes are used. Obviously it doesnt matter if font-size: 9pt is used as that's fixed.
IE comes preset to the Medium Setting. As to how many people change this I am not sure. I don't think its a browser property we can pull out of the request header. Also IE's medium setting is the same as Navigator's small. Also since we have no control over this setting as designers you can't depend on it. I say you should leave your settings on medium and design using specific font sizes.
