ctr and cpc for humor site

What kind of click-through rates and earnings-per click can I expect for a humor website that has funny photos and videos?

Very low click through rates and about $.02 - $.07 per click. Not a lot of money in humor site unless you get a very high volume.

Thanks! That is great info on the epc (and disappointing). For ctr, does very low mean more like 0.1%, 0.01%, or 0.001%?

Every website is different, but I'm getting like 1-2% on some of my entertainment websites, with low cpc rates as avix2 said.

I see up to 6% (sustained, for years) on a couple of my entertainment sites. It can be ok. The ppc rates are low, though.

If you can get an eCPM of $2-3 thats pretty good for an entertainment site..

Thanks richplay. From what little solid info I have been able to gather so far, it sounds like you are getting really good ctr's for this type of traffic.

One good thing about entertainment sites is that you can get viral traffic without too much trouble.

Thanks for the info, Sagewing. This is probably a noob question, but would that eCPM of $2-$3 be per ad or per site. So, if I had 5 ads per page would the site be worth $10-$15 eCPM?

You can have only 3 one one page and no, if you would get with one ad $3 cpm you wouln'dt get $9 with 3 ad-units. it's all about the clicks... but you have a bigger chance of getting your ads into the visitor's theur eyes :P

Theoretically, you can have up to seven AdSense units on a page:
    3 regular ads
    1 link unit
    1 search field
    1 Firefox referrer button
    1 AdSense referrer button

ECPM is generally considered on a per page, not per ad basis.

And you'd have to work damn hard to get that high on a humour site.
