    Advertise on car?

    Hello,

What do you think of this idea? I think it is not good for hosting companies becouse not everyone knows about hosting but if you have designing company/website , advertisement on the car is a pretty good idea especially when you are stuck in a traffic , you can get pretty good visitors.

I agree, it really depends on the business. Plus, it should be something catchy that other drivers will see and remember.

I have a BloomBikeShop.com sticker on my windshield, but that's mainly for when I'm parked at bike races and lots of people go by. (targeted people that is, )

I agree with bookatechie on this one. Creative advertising sticks in people's heads and interests them enough to check you out.

I once asked Revenue Canada about their view on advertising on a car, just how much of the expenses could I write off. They gave a very negative answer.

I think car advertising would work for regionally targetted websites, but might fall short on anything else unless you have a very short and catchy domain name.

Generally, I think ads on cars could do okay if you're advertising on many of them. Or, if the car and/or ad is very visible and spends a lot of time on the road.

In my area somebody has a pickup truck with a giant Red Bull (the energy drink) can in the pickup bed leaning on the cab. The entire pickup as well as the giant can is the advertisement. That's advertising the product, though, and not being used to promote a website.

I have seen URLs on many cars, but I cannot seem to remember any of them. I'm sure if I saw an ad for a website on a car at a time when I needed the particular service, I would probably remember the url and visit the site later.

I think it would be a major waste of time, big time decision makers don't pick web development companies because they saw their name on a car.

You'd get cheap tire kickers (no pun intended) if you got any interest at all out of this.

I agree with most of the comments, but there is another type of sites to advertise...
We are about to advertise our consulting company on our cars
    Some of our reasons:
    - Looks professional when we come to meetings
    - Helps contacts in our network remember us, and talk about us

I don't think that to many will call us and ask for a job just because of the ads on our cars, but it will help us get work from existing customers and contacts.
