    ie after format

In my title bar (the blue bar at the top of internet explorer), it has the title and then after that it has - LineOne.
Also it has a small animated gif in the right hand side of the menu bars.

How do I get rid of these?

I assume LineOne is your ISP, computer manufacturer or whomever provided your version of IE? I don't know how to remove it. Another registry hack?

There are programs that will allow you to override this. The best I know is called Xteq X-Setup and is available free for download at their site.

I know for sure that it will let you change the title and that you can define your own icon, but I'm not sure if it will let you reset to the default icon. I'll check it out tonight and get back to you on the details. You can try it out in the mean time, the program allows you to do all kinds of really neat things!

Yep, you guessed it Sketch. The IE Administration Kit allows provider to customize the Internet Explorer browser in any number of ways, including the Title bar. It does this by modifying registry and system policy values.

The only way to get rid of the custom title and throbber is to reinstall IE from Microsoft.

you can change that in the registry... i've done it before but i can't remember which key it is...

you do not have to re-install IE

maybe you could do a search at microsoft...

There is a key, but to change all the other things, it is easier to reinstall IE

If you want to, go to your registry editor and Search for LinkOne. That should bring up the right reg key.

It's 'WindowTitle' I think. Search for that, or LineOne. If you search for 'WindowTitle' again you'll probably get Outlook Express too.

I don't think you can change the throbber in the reg. can you? Besides, what's the default setting for that thing?

The throbber is the little thing that swirls in the corner when you are surfing.

Even if you reinstalled internet explorer (same version) wouldn't it still stay the same?

I think it will overwrite the registry values and set them to the default IE settings.

You can take your ISPs throbber off your IE and OE (if need be), by deleting the following images in c:\program files\internet explorer\

You can also use IEAK from microsoft.com, to customize your own version of IE
