I've a problem with some links to files I want to distribute from my site.

These are links to files named "part.a0?" (where ? is a number within 1..11).

The problem is: when an user clicks the link, the file is downloaded *in the navigator's screen*, instead of being prompted for saving it on disk.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Change to a known extension or change your mime types on the server so that the extensions is known to the server. Either way you need to make the browser and/or server think that the files are not plain text which a lot of systems default when more is not known.
