I have php scripts below, it exports data from mysql table to excel or word, but I would like to have it exporting to text format with separators, but I have tried to change but it keeps on exporting to Ms_excel. May some help with changing this code to text format or give URL where I can find php scripts that exports to text format with seperators or delimiters

<?php
include ('../conn.php');

$sql = "SELECT * FROM payments";
$result=$rs = mysql_query ($sql);

if (isset($w) && ($w==1)){
$file_type = "msword";
$file_ending = "doc";
}
else {
$file_type = "vnd.ms-excel";
$file_ending = "txt";
}
//header info for browser: determines file type ('.doc' or '.xls')
header("Content-Type: application/$file_type");
header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=database_dump.$file_ending");
header("Pragma: no-cache");
header("Expires: 0");

/* Start of Formatting for Word or Excel */
