can't get this to align centered (was "Matter of life and death!")

But I can't seem to get THIS in the centre!

It always seems to be about 100 pixels left of where it should be? For example if i select align 'centre' it will be 100 pixels to the left, if I select align right, again it will be 100 pixels left of 'completely right' wheras if I align left, it's fine... any suggestions? It's like there is an invisible cell preventing me from aligning

In FF is it ok.

For IE try to use this style:

margin-left:auto;
margin-right:auto;

instead of align=center
