DOS prompt for computer over network

Does anyone know how I can get to the command line of a computer over the network?
Basically I need to access the Java compiler on the local server to compile my files, but I've got no clue how to do it

You will have to telnet to access to the computer. Telnet allows you to run command remotely as if you were at the console directly. Of course, you may need to see your admin for the appropriate permissions.
