    Website 2nd Opinion

We currently have a group of websites that have decreased in popularity on the Search Engines. We have a company doing SEO but when it comes to such an important function as optimizing a website for search engines, it's kind of like getting a "doctor's second opinion" when you have been diagnosed with a serious disease or condition.

Our only hesitation is that we're afraid that if we contact 10 companies or 100 companies, we will get 10 or 100 different opinions!

Does anyone have any thoughts about our dilemma?

It would be unlikely to find a competitor willing to give you an honest opinion.

Just to clarify on that. You're giving your business to Company A. You want a second opinion. You approach Company B. Company B sees that you're giving your business to Company A, their competition. What's Company B's incentive to fully help you? Their natural tendency would be to tell you something that will increase the chance that you'll leave Company A and become their client instead. That may or may not be the best thing for you.

Its best if you can do some form of evaluation yourself. Read the ever helpful SEO FAQ at the top of this forum, and go through each point individually. Look at your site and see how well your company has worked to each of these points. If you find anything they do that goes agaisnt the info there, then thats something to potentially bring up with them.
