Determine the Age of a Website

Does anyone have any ideas of how to determine the age of a website?

You can see when the domain was registered but that doesn't necessarily correspond to the date it was established. You can use http://www.archive.org/index.php to look up old pages for any website but that will only give you a general history. Once again, no way to know when a site started.

iwebtool has thing thing that shows how old a domain is, but not really the site. Most sites put a copyright up that shows like copyright google.com 1998-2006. That sort of thing.
