    Social Networking, CMS and SEO

Any software suites out there that offer all three components? Software like phpfox, handshakes and buddyzone lack mechanical seo features (title tags, meta, ahrefs, alt, friendly url's, etc...) so content that is added, is not indexed properly in the se's.

One thing I've noticed about myspace-in the last few months-I've never seen it anywhere in search engine results. The only way you hear about myspace is by people telling you about it; via email, im, oral, etc...

Do a site search through Google and the title, meta, etc.. tags are jacked.

Any social networking software suites that combine a solid cms system with a working seo foundation?

Ok, then maybe we should continue our discussion in this thread.

If you want a CMS + SNS solution it's a different story of course.
Yet I can't imagine that you would need a real CMS-like solution for SN?
The few pages you want to add can you add manually trough the templates. You could add the meta tags manually too, that isn't too much effort IMHO.
Handshakes has one of the best templates systems I've seen so far, so it should be easy too. Adding their good usergroup management I don't see a problem here.

The other well-known solutions, PHPFox and Dolfin lack in both terms. As far as I remember they use Smarty Templates. But they are nearly as admin-friendly as handshakes.

I don't think there is THE perfect solution available for you that combines all three of your aspects.

Well think about it. All the content developed on the general sn sites is hidden. Its not properly optimized, and doesn't benefit the site.

Look at wikipedia, and how efficiently it is seo'ed.

Content sites have developed good software base for content, but lack the sn aspects. Would be nice to couple the two, to create high quality niche portal sites.

What content are you talking about?
Most of the "big" SNS integrate into popular forum software.
The "content" on a profile page isn't really content I think and most probably spiders a forbidden from crawling profiles.
Then you have blogs and groups - which you can most probably only see if you a registered user.
And a few real content pages could you seo on your own.

The point is, there is no quality content on a normal SN site.

    Check http://cmsmatrix.org/matrix/cms-matrix

I know Drupal, but for beeing a CMS. I think you would have a lot to do if you would like to tun it into a SN site.

The thing I don't like about PHPFox, apart from it's Myspace-like look, is its ACP. It's missing so many features. I was really shocked as I saw the ACP the first time.

    Definately.

I also created an MP3 Mod using Wimpy for PHPFox... It's pretty nice, if I do say so myself... a few bugs to work out but nothing major. All my users love it.
