How do I offer a file download on my site with a password requirement?

If you use the same username/password (or have few people with access to this area) the put the file in an HTTP password protected directory.

If you are going to have a lot of different people with different usernames/passwords, then use server-side scripting to check the password and redirect them if they give incorrect login information.

Or just get windows NT and pass protected the dir where you keep the files, this way each person has their own password.
