First rule of the business: You should not code in the WYSIWYG view in Dreamweaver. If you search deep enough you find hundreds of reasons why not. Use only code view instead.
Second rule: If you want to preview your design, don't use the WYSIWYG view in Dreamweaver either, use every browser that is available to you on your OS.
Just a few days ago, someone asked a very similar question. It was about whether floats are the proper way to layout your website.
