Standard Fonts

Is there a list of standard fonts? Much like using a color safe pallet or designing for all screen resolutions, I want to know if there is a list of fonts that will work with the vast majority of surfers.

I have never heard of such a list, however it would be short. Off the top of my head:

Arial
Helvetica
Veredana
Times New Roman
Courier
Geneva
Tahoma

These should cover most surfers.
