using FTP explorer to CHMOD a gile you type:
site chmod 755 filename.cgi
but how do you chmod multiple files or directories

I don't think you can in FTP Explorer, it's a very basic program, which is unfortunate because it's clean, tidy and (best-of-all) free :-(
I currently use Cute FTP which does allow you to do this.
You might like to check that out.

i don't know if it will work though.
WS_FTP lets you chmod multiple files, and it's free for educational or nonprofit use.

CuteFTP is great for chmodding, but I would use another client, such as AceFTP ar WS FTP for general FTPing. It doesn't hurt to have multiple clients!
