How to install scripts manually to a website? Desperate...

    Hi,

I own an e-commerce website with x-cart shopping cart. I am trying to add forum (PHPBB2.0.321) and crafty syntax live support features into my store.

I am using cpanel for my management interface. I am totally new to all these web technical stuff.

Can anyone please teach me how to install these scripts manually, avoid using fantastica?

I followed those instruction provided by the software official website, but certain things i don't really understand as i am new to all these.

First thing to learn, how to upload those upzip files to my web server? Is it by uploading them one by one via my cpanel file manager?

Oh god..this is really driving me crazy, please help and and teach me...your help will be very much appreciated!

    Millions thanks in advance...

Download CuteFTP or SmartFTP. It's pretty self-explanitory.

Ok, first go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/ and download the filezilla ftp client. It's free and it's great. Install it and then let us know.

I have also downloaded smart ftp, which is better to use as a beginner?

Now that i have got the ftp, what should i do next? Please help...thanks very much...

The set up file is all you need. Double click on it and it will guide you through the install process. It should take less then a minute to do.

Once it is intalled you will need to add your site information to it. Just follow their instructions and you should alright. It's easy.

You need to add your website's FTP information to filezilla so it knows how to connect to your website. Once you do that you are ready to upload the scripts to your website.

If you are still having trouble, you can hire a freelancer to install the script for you. This job would not cost you too much money.
