    Multi lingual site

I am putting together a multi lingual site that will be primarily built in php.

    I am considering the alternatives:
    1. Building a single site structure, with a database that serves the correct content based on a cookie.
    2. Building seperate pages in each language, with the exception of my homepage....

I can see an advantage in having pages that can be crawled in all languages (soln 2), however soln 1 is allot neater.

    Any ideas, guidance greatfully received.

My advice is to build a single structure, it's easy to deal with.
With separate pages you'll have to waste your time, but you'll need it for more important things like building backlinks to your website. I would definitely choose 1.

How many languages you thinking of? If more than 3 I think def go with one.
