Just like to read some feedback on the above dedicated hosting co., here in Oz.

they do look quite impresive, i think they are the first web hosting company i have ever seen that doesnt charge for sending data, (australia`s billing system is different to the states, you get charged for receiving, not for sending) that is a definate plus!

i have heard of davnet before, (who they co-host with) so i would say you are most likely onto a good thing... pitty they dont have NT servers or else id be tempted to get one.

wasn't davnet in some financial trouble before??? not sure might be some other Australian isp???

therev been quite a few ISP`s in financial trouble, ill have a look see what i can come up with

yep, davnet is in financial trouble,
there shares were at $5.40 in march 2000, there now trading $0.055... they were on brink of collapse in august, till investment company of china steped in. ceo ect ect have all recently quite.

so id be carefull going with dedicatedservers as there provider looks to be very shaky... especially if you were going to sign up for that 36 month pre paid deal.

Hi, I was interested in their response so I wrote them a email. Here's what I got...

Thanks for your online enquiry. You've raised a very valid issue,
and one we are familiar with answering since Davnet Ltd disclosed
it's position to the ASX. Firstly we have no financial affiliation
with Davent other than we are a large customer. It's a supplier
client financial relationship.

Davnet Ltd (the publicly traded company in Australia) is the company
in potential financial difficulties but the company who owns the data
centre and the infrastructure we house our servers in is Davnet
Telecommunications Pty Ltd. So these are two different entities.

Davnet Telecommunications Pty Ltd is owned in majority by NTT
http://www.ntt.com (the world largest telephone company) and is
profitable as a private company. Davnet Limited owns a portion of
Davnet Telecommunications Pty Ltd, but NTT 's stated policy is to buy
out the lesser partner in the event of escalating financial
difficulty of Davnet Limited

NTT (Nippon Telephone and Telegraph) also own Verio who are
substantial players globally, and who Davnet Telecommunications Pty
Ltd peers with for the international connections.

Generally we feel very comfortable with the arrangements as they
stand, but should the circumstance change in any dramatic way we do
have contingency plans to switch to alternate networks as the Davnet
data centres are feed by a number of other carriers. In any case we
own all the equipment we run from which includes the routers,
switches, cabinets, cabling, Net bloc numbers etc, we even run our
own 24/7 NOC to monitor our network segments and facilities. In
total disaster we could physically move our server and reconnect
within 24 hours max to alternate connectivity supplier.
