Promoting my new movie related site

    Hi,
I just launched a movie review site on 1st June, and Im goiing to start promoting it in big movie related forums this week end. The site is: http://mydvdreviews.com/

I plan to make 20 posts a day, on 10 different forums. So, in total, Ill make 200 posts a day. Ill advertise my site in my signature, using my promotion, where people can win DVDs: http://mydvdreviews.com/2006/06/05/win-free-dvds/

Do you guys think its enough to bring in some good bookmarkers? (Im also writing 2 movie reviews every day, to retain the traffic. Here is an example of a movie review I made: http://mydvdreviews.com/2006/06/06/x...he-last-stand/ )

I want to get at least 2k page views per day within the next 3 months. Do you think it can be achieved using my promotion techniques?

    Thanks all for your comments,
    Logan

It's possible. Gotta push hard. Get that url in your signature to start a small buzz.

Try to go and announce your site at PRWeb.com Consider giving away a free movie per month in a drawing per contest rules. (Buy a used dvd from Amazon or new from amazon at a discounted rate if your on a budget)

Think out of the (DVD) box and you'll get those hits in no time.

Actually, Im giving out 5 DVDs per month... Im not really on a budget for this project. I plan to make it big... I just have no experience in making a website big, so thats why I wrote this post

Ill definatly have a look at prweb.com. Thanks for the tip

    Thanks,
    Logan

Yes, PRWEB can earn you a ton of backlinks; even if you don't pay.

As a guy who has been in this industry almost two years (2 in September), I do have to tell you that it is a lot of hard work, writing and hours.

Content is king, however, and if you put in the time it should pay itself off in the LONG RUN.

    Hey Logan,

Congrats on the site. Love the content and design.

What has worked for some of our previous sites (which use a blog platform) has been by making signature comments on related blogs, as well as using trackbacks on related comment threads. Blogs are PR-friendly and if used properly (ie. not spamming) then you will find that you will quickly build a sticky community of bloggers that visit your site and perhaps even recommend you by adding you to their blogroll.

How long do you think the long run is? I hope to begin making some profits within 6 months. Do you think this is too short of a time frame?

    Thanks,
    Logan

It's like a link communication thing between blogs. If you like someone's blog post and mention it on your blog by posting the URI, it will show up as a comment, trackback, or some other note on the other blog... which gets a link to your blog entry.
