There are a couple of ways. First is the soap and bucket method..
Naw, Im just kidding. Never, ever put water on your PC or monitor!
You can get some anti-static cleaning wipes from your local office supply store to clean up your peripherals.
For the "CPU", I would recommend one of those cans of compressed air. Crack open the case and blow all the dust outta there. Those cans work great for keyboards as well.

You want to avoid using a screen cleaner that has ammonia in it as it can damage the anti-glare substance applied to most monitors.

(For the screen, just get a slighly damp cloth, i mean, not one that has water dripping off itand wipe you screen, you can dry it off with another cloth
)

When I was working this summer part of my job was to prepare computers that the organization was about to give away for donation
I found that as far as the outside of the case and the monitor is concerned (be careful with the monitor so that nothing goes inside through the lines) car interior cleaners are the best (that is, if you don't want to spend money on the expesive computer cleaners) the inside is easily cleaned by a few good blows (hope you have good lungs) just move away cause the dust someimes hits you right back in your face, for the monitor listen to platinum, a good DAMP not wet cloth will do, i stress DAMP and preferably the cloth should be soft (No old jeans), for the keyboard, try the car interior cleaner or just a damp cloth with a LITTLE bit of dish washing soap.
PS: Do this all at your own risk, I haven't had any problems yet.

I have often wondered if you can use baby wipes instead of the special antistatic ones. Would have to be cheaper!![]()

I think wipes have lotion in them, but I'm not 100% on that one. Maybe the cheap generic ones would work good. Just look at the ingredients!

Actually, before posting this thread I did what platinum said. But it wasn't that much effective. Should I try it again? Or use those liquids for cleaning glasses?
And about the casing - I really have no idea what those compressed cans are. May be they are not available here.
