Vb Is the BEST Forum Software, i have used Phpbb in the past.

Phpbb is very good. But, VBulletin is the Best .. It has tonnes more features and can handle lots more users. Its well worth the money

I install a lot of skin for vb, but for professional use, most people are not happy with whats there, hence comes the custom works. Yes I do develop templates for vb, also make it more content relevent etc, if you need help, let me know.

Like CrazyMod, I've seen a HUGE increase in Yahoo Bots...

'Real' traffic has increased, too at 2 of my sites. I haven't noticed a big increase at the others.

BTW, your best bet for a completely custom skin is to hire two people. 1) a good designer, and 2) a good coder...it's rare that one person will be good at both.

So do you think that for a design I can design it (I am pretty good with photoshop) then have www.yourskinner.com code it? Im not sure who would be a good coder or what.

You could purchase an ad in the Looking to Hire forum, or you could check around SMF's official forums.

Try posting in the "Help Wanted" board at simplemachines.org - that should help. You might also want to ask Bloc if he does custom themes.

Yes. YourSkinner has coded two skins for me. They do great work.

Thumbs up miniBB is soo easy

Thanks, RRWH i just downloaded and installed miniBB to my e-commerce site in less than 5 minutes using VDeck.

I havent started to customize it yet, but with the downloads available at http://www.minibb.net/download.html it looks like I'm really going to like it better than phpBB for store feedback and product reviews.

If anyone can suggest something better for this purpose, please post.

I use phpBB because, in my opinion, it is easier to customize and a lot more user friendly.

Since phpBB is an open source message board, it's extremely easy to customize. There's plenty of skins available, or you could make your own like I did.

Take a look at www.socomcentral.net/forums/ . I'm not trying to plug my site, I'm just trying to show how customizable phpBB is. Their (phpBB) template system is really easy to understand, and relatively fast to skin.

Also, since phpBB is free, I think (but have no facts to back this up) that it is used by more website owners than VBulletin is. Since it's more widely used, more people will recognize it and find it more user friendly.

The only thing I hate about phpBB is that it is easy to hack. The built in security is horrible. My website was hacked once, almost one year ago. Since then, I've re-named the admin folder, and added .htaccess protection. It's never been broken into since then.
